Two teams with contrasting styles will be looking to make statements
Qingdao’s boss, Xiaopeng Li, took charge in January 2025 and his side are slowly playing to his philosophy of compact, physical and disciplined soccer.
Hainiu have kept things tight at the back and have been grinding out results at home, where they are unbeaten in their two games under Li (W1, D1). They have just eight points from 14 games in Super League 2025, which is why they currently sit in 15th place in the table.
In complete contrast, Zhejiang Professional are in 10th place on 17 points after 14 league outings and Raul Caneda’s men like to play attacking soccer with plenty of movement and fluidity in the final third. However, this often leaves them exposed at the other end and is the reason why they haven’t been able to put together a string of wins.
Zhejiang’s dangerman on a rich run
Wellington Silva is Hainiu’s main dangerman up front, with the Brazilian striker having netted six Super League 2025 goals in 14 appearances.
Caneda’s side have scored ten times in seven away games in the Super League 2025 and that is why they are slight favorites to win this clash.
Yudong Wang has been on a great run of form, netting three of those nine goals, so the player with 13 league appearances could be the dangerman to watch on Wednesday.
Franko Andrijasevic has given Caneda’s attack a boost with three assists in the last five league fixtures, providing a creative spark from a midfield position.
Caneda’s team is inconsistent
Zhejiang Professional FC’s recent form is a mixed bag, as they have won only one of their five competitive games, drawing two and losing two (D2, W1, L2).
Their most recent three results are a 0-1 away win at Guangzhou Dandelion Alpha FC, a 2-2 home draw with Shanghai Port FC and a narrow 3-2 away defeat at Henan FC.
Qingdao Hainiu have also played some good soccer in their recent fixtures, recording a 2-1 home win over Guangxi Hengchen, a penalty shootout win after a 0-0 away draw at Liaoning Tieren FC and a 2-0 defeat at Wuhan Three Towns.
Their recent form is mixed (W2, D1, L2) but they seem to be getting more confident in Li’s structured style and can get something out of this game at 3.20.
However, Zhejiang Professional FC are the rightful favorites at 2.15 as the bookmakers view this game as a toss-up, but we are going to steer clear of the moneyline in this clash.
The draw at 3.50 looks interesting, but we’ll take a chance on both teams to score as Caneda’s attacking style will surely create plenty of chances, although Qingdao Hainiu will sit back and counter.
